St, Patrick’s Day isn’t a huge holiday for everyone, but if you want to do a little something special and colorful for the kids in your life I’ve got you covered! I originally found some of these ideas when planning a rainbow themed birthday party years ago, but they work great for St. Patty’s Day treats too.
Rainbow Treat Bags & Tubes
The fun thing about these treats bags is they can be customized with whatever your kids like (I know mine like all different things). Pick a colorful candy!
Colorful Candy Ideas:
- skittles
- sour skittles
- m&ms
- fruit loops
- twizzlers
- gumballs
- extreme airheads
Next, choose something sweet with a gold wrapper.
Gold wrapped candies:
- Rolos
- Hershey’s nugget
- Gold wrapped chocolate coins (I always find mine in the Target $1 spot but Amazon has them too)
You can use several ways of wrapping them up for the perfect presentation. These treat tubes you can purchase HERE or these treat bags you can purchase HERE.
Treat Tubes
These plastic tubes are my preference for this treat display because the candy tends to stay in it’s place better. I originally used these years ago for party favors at a rainbow themed birthday party with gumballs (purchased HERE). They had little tags on them that said “rainbows to go” like this…
Here is the link to purchase these adorable “rainbows to go” labels HERE.
I added some gold candy to them this time for St. Patrick’s Day treats. Since kids have all different preferences I thought I’d show you some different combos you can put in these treat tubes. I used skittles, sour skittles, m&ms, gumballs, and extreme airheads (they’re already rainbows).
I made these cute labels to add to them too if you want to add an extra St. Patrick’s Day touch!
Treat Bags
Have you even made those chocolate dipped rod pretzels? These bags are for those but I used them as another way to package the same treats above. You can buy them at any store that sells baking supplies. HERE are some on Amazon. Same idea, different presentation!
Here are the same candies and ways to package them side by side…
You can also use fruit loops for little ones! My kids are older and want candy so I didn’t make these but HERE is a blog post with these.
Other Treat Ideas
Rainbows are so fun and colorful for St. Patty’s Day, but I have some other fun treat ideas for a table setting or just a fun treat for movie night.
The first one I plan on using for a movie night – a little popcorn and a little chocolate! You can fill these cups with anything you like though. I found these leprechaun hat cups in the Target $1 spot, but I’ve been seeing them everywhere. I added a little green circle to the bottom to make them look more like a real leprechaun hat. Pretty sure no one will complain about this cute treat!
This other treat idea I’ve actually done for my students in the past! I was a kinder & first grade teacher before I became a mom. I wanted to make the day special but not spend a lot. I bought these cute mini cauldrons HERE and filled them with rolos or gold coins. These days teachers can’t gibe food/candy to students, but would still be fun for home!
The pot of gold idea game from a cute blog I found on Pinterest, so I’m linking the blog post HERE on how she used the same cauldrons in a different way. These downloadable “pot of gold” tags are also from her blog, so be sure and check it out!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you got some new ideas for St. Patrick’s Day for the little ones in your life. I love to make each holidays special and fun too. Doing that doesn’t have to be expensive either! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
