Anyone else like to start a new school year off on a positive note? While not necessary, I have always done back to school gifts for teachers. Nothing too fancy or expensive – just a little something to show appreciation! I love wishing them well as they start a new school year with new kiddos. As a former teacher, I guarantee you it will never go unappreciated or unnoticed!
Teacher Survival Kit
One of my favorite things that I have done for years is a Back to School Survival Kit. It’s just a fun collection of goodies that you think may come in handy to have around that first week or throughout the year. I usually present it in a pencil or crayon box with a label and bow like this:
Here are some items you could include:
- chocolate
- $1 for the soda machine at school
- hand sanitizer
- lint roller
- tide pen
- mints
- gum
- lotion
- chapstick
- Advil/Tylenol
Keep in mind I kept the items small so they could fit in a pencil box, but you could get bigger items too and include in a basket, etc.

Coffee Themed Gift Ideas
I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but I know it helps many people get though their day. Teachers need lots of energy to keep up with their enthusiastic students!
Mug
The first idea involves a cute little mug. You could gift the mug alone, fill it with K-Cups, or even a gift card. I love this simple but thoughtful gift. Tie it up with some string and a cute tag and you’re done!

Gift Card Holder
This little gift card holder is oh so true! We drop our kiddos off and wish for the best for those patient teachers. Spoil them with a gift card so they can go buy their favorite caffeinated beverage before or after work!

Gift Card Holder
This was one of my very first printables I made a few years ago when I was on the PTA board. I was in charge of gifting 60+ gift cards to teachers to welcome them back and came up with this cute presentation to make it more fun. You could include a gift card to anywhere, but our school chose Target because they have almost anything a teacher could want!
I also like the idea of sticking a few markers on here instead of a gift card.

Marker Gift
This gift is something I know that is always needed and appreciated by teachers! Sharpies & dry erase markers are almost always on a teachers must have list. They get lost and are constantly running out. Just put in a bag, leave in the package, tie a string, attach a cute tag, and bam! Done!

Amazon is Always a Good Idea
In this day and age who doesn’t LOVE Amazon? You can get everything imaginable there and it will be on your doorstep in 2 days (assuming you have Prime). So if you’re at a loss for what to get a teacher you barely know, this is it! They will love it and spend it quickly I assure you! Cheers to an AMAZing year!

Personalized Gift
One more cute idea I have to share with you guys are these adorable signs from @ribbonsandrouters! You can find them on my post from Teacher Appreciation Week HERE. Personalized gifts are always appreciated at the beginning or end of the school year and I adore these!
First Week/Month Gifts (not 1st day)
In case you don’t get a chance to get a gift ready for the first day of school, I came up with something for the end of the first week or even the first month! Super simple to throw together.
I got these cute containers from the Target $1 spot, but you could literally use anything. I put some taller candy bars in each jar so they would stick out. I grabbed some shredded paper (with the wrapping stuff at most craft stores) and stuffed it around the candy bars and to make it look cute. I love adding a personalized touch when the budget allows for it and these cute teacher themed plushies from @theblessedheart are so fun and adorable! Next just print the printable. I attached mine to a small wooden skewer so I could make it stick out of the jar, but you could tie it on too!
I hope these ideas were helpful if you’re a teacher appreciator like me. May your little (or big) ones have a great start to their new school year! Hugs to all the parents and teachers out there!
