Refreshing a room doesn’t have to break the bank. You can add some staple pieces in addition to some seasonal ones to change the look.
I was honored when Kirkland’s asked me to be an influencer for them this year. In all honestly, I have shopped at Kirkland’s for a long time! If you haven’t been in one in awhile, their look has really changed over the years. Traditional decor use to be their niche – more like the style my mom decorated with. It used to be a hit or miss store for me (circa 2003 – I know I’m old), but it’s one of my staples these days. They have really upped their game and broadened their horizon in regards to decor styles. This year they are really trying to push the modern farmhouse look, which is totally my thing!
All that to say, even though I work with them as an influencer, I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade – ok ok more like two!
The goal with this refresh was to change the look of my dining room and stay between $150 – $200. Although I really wanted to buy everything I stuck to my budget and tried to find pieces that would change the look and that I could use all year long.
Kirkland’s Items Used for Refresh
Over on my Instagram page @tablefor5please I have my shopping experience saved to my highlighted stories called Kirkland’s Refresh. These are the items I chose from Kirkland’s for the refresh….
Lily of the valley floral stem – I bought 2 and split them up into 6 bundles and tied thick jute around them for each place setting
Black pitcher (the one pictured here is gray – didn’t have the black online)
Geometric windowpane (from Kirkland’s but bought a month earlier)
Refresh in Action!
Here is a quick little video I put together of the refresh in action for all you visual peeps out there (me included)!

Before & Afters
This refresh was so simple to do! Just switched out some wall decor, a bench for some chairs, and added the rest as table decor! Items I already had got incorporated too. No need to start completely over. A mix of old and new items is what made it transform!
A few closeups of the simple neutral table decor….
It was so much fun updating this room for Spring! Feels like a new space! Make sure you check out Kirkland’s if you haven’t lately. They have most things online and have great sales (my favorite part)! Happy decorating!
